Grass-Fed Beef from the Downing Farm
Braham, Minnesota, USA
NEW: Read the TIME Magazine story on benefits of grass-fed beef!

What is Grass-Fed Beef?
Downing Farm Grass-Fed Beef comes from animals raised on a 100% forage diet. After being raised as calves on their mothers' milk, they thrived on a diet of lush, green grass in the summer (that's our "feedlot" in the picture -- farmhouse in the background) and high quality hay in the winter.
Our animals have never been given by-product feeds, growth hormones, or antibiotics.
Why Grass-Fed Beef?
-- Grass-Fed Beef is superior in flavor and nutrition to grain-fed beef.
-- Grass-fed beef has 300% to 400% more CLA (conjugated linoleic acid), a proven anti-cancer agent.
-- Grass-Fed Beef has 400% more of vitamins A & D.
-- Grass-Fed Beef has a substantially higher amount of Omega 3 fatty acids -- the heart-healthy fat found in salmon and other fish.
-- Cattle raised on grass pasture also cannot develop the deadly stomach-acid resistant E-Coli bacteria that grain-fed cattle can.
